Dan, Holly, Carson, and Malachi Leeper
My name is Dan Leeper. Early in my life, God showed me that I was very sinful and that I was seeking my own way. The Bible says that God sent his Son, Jesus, to live a perfect life and die in my place. By God’s grace, I was able to turn from my sin and trust in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.
(Saved from what?)
God gradually began to place within me a desire for pastoral ministry. In 2001, I enrolled at Bob Jones University to get a B.A. in Bible. At BJU, I met Holly, who grew up in South Bend, IN. We were married during the summer of 2005. After I finished an M.A. in Bible from BJU, we moved back to my home church in the Kansas City area to finish my M.Div. at Heart of America Theological Seminary. Holly and I now have two sons: Carson, who was born in 2007, and Malachi, who was born in 2009. In 2008, we moved out here to the Chicago suburbs where I serve as the youth pastor for Bethel Baptist Church.
The purpose of this blog is primarily to pass along resources to the teens in our youth group and their parents. I will often summarize the sermons that I’m preaching so that they are readily accessible for parents and teens to view throughout the week. If you’re not a teen or parent from my church, you are certainly welcome to read as well. My prayer is that this will be a gospel-centered tool whereby we can fix our eyes on the glory of God and be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.
